Homeowner Mortgage Relief & CARES Act Forbearance

We want to keep you as informed and prepared as possible regarding mortgage relief options. If you are experiencing financial hardship due to the coronavirus COVID-19 click here to learn more about the Federal CARES Act mortgage forbearance.

Please note that the government's forbearance program is not a payment forgiveness program. The program will pause your payments, but payments will need to be repaid at the end of the forbearance plan. So, if you are approved to skip three months of mortgage payments, on the fourth month, four payments would be due at that time (the three skipped payments plus the current month’s payment). If you are seeking a forbearance plan, continue making your mortgage payments until your forbearance plan has been approved.

To find a mortgage forbearance solution please call 1-866-397-5370, email mymortgage@uccu.com, or click here to submit a request.

Small Business Hardship Support

Small Business Programs

The federal and state government have created the following loan programs to provide relief to small businesses that are struggling due to the negative effects of coronavirus (COVID-19):

• Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program

A Federal program, offered directly through the Small Business Administration (SBA), that is designed to help small businesses meet working capital needs caused by business disruptions from COVID-19.

Examples of Economic Injury Disaster Loans include fixed debt payment, payroll, accounts payable, and other expenses.

Businesses work directly with the Small Business Administration (SBA) for these loans.

• Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) - CARES Act

The Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act have allocated funds to help small businesses keep employees on payroll during this emergency while covering such expenses as payroll costs, rent, mortgage interest, and utilities. The loan may be forgiven if certain rules are met.

This program is being implemented by the Small Business Administration with the support of the Department of Treasury.

UCCU is no longer accepting applications at this time.

Utah Community Credit Union is federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration.

*Skip-a-Payment: to qualify, you must have a satisfactory payment history. $25 fee to skip-a-payment per loan. UCCU may deny your request for any reason. Skipped payments are not waived or forgiven; they are simply deferred and must be paid later. Your payments must resume following the skip; your payment the following month will be due on the same date of that month it would have been due in the absence of a skip/deferment the prior month. Interest will continue to accrue during the deferral period and until your loan is repaid in full. Deferring a payment can cause negative amortization on your loan. All terms of your loan agreement(s) remain unchanged if UCCU approves your request except: (a) the payment schedule will lengthen by one month or number of months of the skip payment, and (b) debt cancellation and protection products now in effect may not provide protection beyond the original maturity date. UCCU reserves the right to not offer you a payment deferral in the future. Not available on first mortgages, second mortgages, credit cards and business loans. This offer is subject to change at any time. Some restrictions may apply. Limited time offer. Insured by NCUA.
