UCCU to Become Naming Rights Sponsor of New UVU Soccer Stadium

OREM, Utah (Oct. 25, 2022) — Utah Community Credit Union (UCCU) announced today that it has entered into an agreement to be the naming rights sponsor for Utah Valley University’s (UVU) new soccer stadium. The long-term deal is UCCU’s latest investment in its far-reaching partnership with UVU.

The facility, which will be built on the west side of the current soccer field, will be known as UCCU Stadium. It will serve both the men’s and women’s soccer teams. When completed, UCCU will shift its naming rights from the ballpark at UVU to the soccer stadium, which will be one of the top facilities in NCAA Division I soccer.

“This is more than a sponsorship. It’s another aspect of a comprehensive partnership that encompasses supporting academic programs, campus experiences, and facilities,” said Bret VanAusdal, UCCU President and CEO. “We strive to have a meaningful impact on students, our communities and the state of Utah.”

UCCU has been rooted in higher education since it was founded in 1956, and has been working with UVU in various capacities for over 25 years. The naming rights agreement is part of a $28.5 million commitment over the next 28 years that will extend UCCU’s long-term partnership with UVU through 2050.

UCCU’s commitment to UVU transcends how most credit unions work with institutions of higher education both locally and throughout the country,” said UVU President, Dr. Astrid S. Tuminez. “They truly care and are constantly working with us to find innovative ways to support our students and enhance their experience.”

In recent years the credit union’s partnership with UVU has included many collaborative efforts to enhance student academic success and the community:

  • UVU’s Money Success Center helps ensure students receive personal one-on-one money management training, support and planning as part of their education experience
  • A robust on-campus credit union branch for easy access for on-campus students
  • UVU alumni credit card options; and naming rights sponsorships (UCCU Ballpark and UCCU Center).

An investment in UVU is an investment in the future,” said VanAusdal. “It provides tremendous benefits for our children, families, and the entire state. The majority of UVU students are from Utah, and most settle here after graduation contributing to our local workforce, industries, and communities.”
